Room 123 presents

   Nature Poems

We read nature poems by Emily Dickinson, Edna St. Vincent Millay and many other famous poems.  We also studied some Haiku poems about nature.  Then we tried to write our own.  We hope you enjoy these selections from our Class Poems.

Nature

Animals are out,

Flowers are blowing,

I’m assuming the sun will be out

When the snow is on the trees

I’ll get my skies!

Nature is here!

by Lindsey

Tree

a tree is tall,

a tree is green.

a tree has branches

that are attached

to the trunk.

by Blake

Insects

Insects crawling,

insects falling

off the gentle leaves.

They come and go,

above the noise.

But do they have a choice?

We watch them as they slither

and crawl.

Insects falling,

insects crawling

off the gentle leaves.

by Joya

Red-tailed hawks are big—

they swoop down like an eagle

to snatch fish from lakes.

by Cameron

Rainbow

Rainbows are the things

that shine in the sky.

Rainbows are the colors

inside you.

They help you shine

brightly each day.

They come out at school

and at home and

come out to play.

          by Elizabeth

Deer

Deer, deer, just there eating

then he hears you and turns so silently.

then he looks and looks at you,

then he runs swiftly away.
