Poems about Presidents

George Washington

G. W. is his nickname.

He was humble to his fame.

I cross his bridge when I enter New York.

I wonder if he used a fork.

That was years ago when he was born.

He was the calm after the storm.

He was the first president in the U.S.

What happened before him?

Oh, what a mess!

Abe Lincoln

Abe was his nickname

Books are what he loved

Ready to lead his country

A really tall guy

Has a good sense of humor

A very good president

Many people have him as a hero

Lived as a woodsman

Important to our history

Nancy Hanks was his mother

Came from Kentucky

Oh times were bad

Lived in poverty

Never looked at the bad side

American Revolution commander

Served as president from 1789-1797.

Good Old Abe

Good old Abe, an honest man

who never would be rude or lie.

The man on the penny,

who helped so many.

The nicest of a friend,

but now his story shall end.

The nicest of a friend,

but now his story shall end.

And in our memories we do hold,

that man so very brave and bold.

George Washington

Did George Washington go to school?

Did he have to do homework?

Did he keep his room clean?

Did he listen to his parents?

I guess he did, he became a president.
