Day 18 -releasing the adult flies that have completed the life cycle from egg to adult:

Weather: sunny and cool


     Observations:

After 12 days of being raised in a "maggot motel", the puparium have emerged as fully developed adults blow flies. Thanks to the students that took time away from graduation practice to help release them John R. , Nicole M., Stephanie V. and Chris D. And a special thanks to Dean H. for completing his US History Exam in time to help us. Alina ,  you don't know what you missed!

Investigators would identify the species of adult blow fly to determine which "clock" was used for Post Mortem Interval calculation.

Blow fly larvae have survived on beef liver wrapped in a aluminum foil "tent".

Adult flies are released into tall grasses  near the school building.
