Period 9 was the first class to investigate the death scene. The deer was killed on a local road by an automobile and moved to this location. Crime Scene Photography by Amber.

The investigation will be tracked using a data sheet for recording changes in temperature, stages of decomposition and insect activity.

Blow fly eggs are sampled from several locations on the corpse.

The surface body temperature is measured using a digital thermometer.

The investigators will share the collected data with all the forensic science classes.

The eyes of the corpse appear cloudy, another indicator of post mortem interval or P.M.I..

An investigator bends a limb to check rigor mortis, which in this case is broken or past the first 36 hours after death.
