Period 9 was the first class to investigate the death scene. The deer was killed on a local road by an automobile and moved to this location. Crime Scene Photography by Amber.

The investigation will be tracked using a data sheet for recording changes in temperature, stages of decomposition and insect activity. |
Blow fly eggs are sampled from several locations on the corpse. |
 The surface body temperature is measured using a digital thermometer. |
The investigators will share the collected data with all the forensic science classes. |

The eyes of the corpse appear cloudy, another indicator of post mortem interval or P.M.I.. |
An investigator bends a limb to check rigor mortis, which in this case is broken or past the first 36 hours after death. |
