On day 8 of the death scene study, the deer  has been reduced to hair, skin and bones.

The death scene temperatures are still recorded because  entomological evidence will be collected.

The pelvic bones are poking through the skin.

Rib bones are visible under the corpse.

Maggots are still growing on the corpse.

Investigators dissect the corpse to find bullets possibly discharged into the victim.

Investigators collect entomological evidence for later identification.

The corpse has reached the skeletonization stage and drying out.

Officer Doherty demonstrates how to search for bullets that may have been discharged into the victim.

A metal detector is used to locate any bullets.

W.C.O.  Mike Doherty gives the students another lesson in death scene investigations.
